Congratulations Sean Carte
Congratulations Sean Carte (Library IT Dept) on winning a competition held by @MIRE, a software company that is well known for their research and development in open source software such as DSPACE. The announcement was made on @MIRE’s website this week (see details). The prize, an add-on module for content and usage analysis (an extremely expensive module) will be implemented by @MIRE for free. This much needed module will now enable us to report more efficiently on the usage of the Institutional Repository. WELL DONE SEAN!!!

DUT Library introduces Summon, a new Discovery Tool.
Your library, from a single starting point
The Library has launched a new service that allows students and research staff to quickly search and locate Library resources in the same way they search Google or Google Scholar. The Summon™ service, located on the Library homepage, lets users search all the Library’s content from a single search box – books, e-books, journal articles, databases, DUT theses and dissertations and research papers.
DUT Library’s content using a single search box.
A single search
It provides a Google-like search experience, so you can use one search box to discover credible and reliable library content.
Compatible with major mobile devices, such as iPhone and Blackberry (app is automatically downloaded).
Delivers search results in a relevancy-ranked list so the most relevant results appear at the top of the list.
Complete and instant access
Incorporates the comprehensive knowledge of DUT Library's holdings so that you can access their results including full-text of electronic articles.
Navigate and narrow search result sets using multiple methods, such as filtering, faceting and sorting.
Results set can be limited to items immediately available in full text online.
Bibliographic information export
Export citations to bibliographic management software applications, EndNote and RefWorks.
Limit results to "scholarly" publications, including peer-reviewed material.
"Did you mean?" suggestions
Provides guidance for misspellings or low yield queries.
