Officially launched in October 2015, the Lenovo Innovation Centre was rebranded and relaunched on 24 May 2017 with refreshed equipment provided by Lenovo. The Centre was a first for a South African academic institution when it was initially launched and it continues to showcase Lenovo’s products while benefiting the students at DUT, who get to use them. The range of equipment available in the Lenovo Innovation Centre includes robust, yet affordable devices that are relevant to students and staff.
According to Mohammed Ramathulla, Sales Director of Lenovo South Africa, education remains one the biggest challenges for South Africa. Lenovo considers their provision of access to technology through the Innovation Centre a small initiative that will give DUT students the best start so that they can go on to contribute positively to the economy and a better South Africa.
DUT looks forward to future partnerships with Lenovo.
