2026 Accredited Journals List:
The Department of Higher Education (DHET) has compiled a master list of accredited journals. This list will take effect immediately and serve as the sole reference list for articles published in 2026 and submitted for subsidy in 2027.
The list now indicates delisted journals & clearly states whether a journal is eligible for subsidy. The list will be updated at the end of May and October 2026 to reflect any changes in a journal’s status throughout the year.
These are journal titles that produce recognised research output which meet specific criteria and therefore qualify for subsidisation by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). In order to receive a subsidy or recognition for an article or conference paper which you have written, choose a journal that appears in the list.
