Dear Staff and Students
The library has implemented a new discovery/search tool called Ebsco Discovery Service (EDS). The EDS replaces SUMMON, a Google-like search engine that was used by staff and students for finding credible and reliable information sources in the DUT Library since 2012.
We need your help in choosing a name for the new discovery tool! Enter our library competition by sending in short and punchy name ideas that will best describe the current search tool. Participate in this competition and stand a chance to win yourself goodies such as 4GB USBs, Branded Pens, Playing cards, and many more. The person with the most votes will win a brand new 10-inch screen tablet.
A tip to help you: What would you call a tool that you could use to find or discover reliable and credible information quickly and easily? Entries may be submitted in any official language of South Africa.
Process:
• To enter the competition, please click on Library Search Tool Competition
• The deadline for entries is 16 March 2022. Enquiries can be sent to Mr Romeo Matumba at muvhulawam@dut.ac.za
Terms and conditions: The winner will be announced on Pinboard and the library’s social media pages. The winner will be required to take photos when claiming the prize. The competition is only open to current DUT staff and students. Staff employed in the library are not permitted to participate. The voting polls will only include names approved by the library.
NB: In compliance with the POPI Act, your personal information will be kept confidential.
