Laptop Loans
Available at all libraries
Contact IT Student Support Centre at Alan Pittendrigh and BM Patel libraries and the Circulation Desk at other libraries
Laptops only issued once a disclaimer is signed
Loan Periods are 2 hours and the laptops can only be used withing the library you are loaning it from
Wi-Fi Facilities
Available at all libraries.
Rules for the eZones
Users are expected to follow all posted eZone rules
No food or drink is allowed in the eZones
Users must maintain an acceptably low noise level and behave in a way that respects the rights and needs of others
eZone equipment and furnishings must be used for their intended purpose and treated with respect e.g. only one person seated in a chair at a time
Users are expected to leave when asked to do so by library staff e.g. when the Library is closing, during an emergency, or when behaviour is unacceptable.
Copying, installation or downloading of any software (e.g. from the Internet or personal CDs) onto the computers is prohibited
Use of the University’s facilities in a manner that violates copyrights, patent protections, or license agreements is not allowed
Users should save their work on their own email i.e. dut4life, One drive, flash drive or disk. (N.B. documents saved to the hard drive are automatically deleted when the computer is rebooted)
Reconfiguration, rearrangement or removal of hardware is prohibited
Relocation of any equipment or furniture is prohibited
Personal audio equipment with headphones is allowed as long as others are not disturbed
Use of cell phones is allowed but phones must be set on “silent”
Access to Facebook is only allowed after 15:00 daily
USBs should be removed after routing of print job
Wi-Fi connection problems should be brought to the attention of library staff on duty in the respective area
