New at the DUT Library is the Fashion Studies Online collection of videos. This resource retraces the history of fashion, clothing, and costume worldwide. Students and researchers can view major fashion events in Milan, Paris, New York and London, as well as Miami swim and New York bridal collections. Also, this collection features interviews with top designers, models, and celebrities of the fashion world.
When searching in Fashion Studies Online, both basic and advanced search options are available. The hyperlinked browse options, fashion series and featured playlists allow quick access to content in this collection. Registering on the site allows you to personally customise your search experience, save clips and create playlists for your own research purposes. Other features offered are sharing on social networks, exporting citations to EndNote or Mendeley, a scrolling transcript which is visible while watching the video and a visual table of contents to assist you to navigate in the videos.
A very enriching resource which even allows you to customise the language of the interface to Afrikaans or Zulu! Sometimes though, our limited bandwidth might be an irritation when viewing videos on-campus. Find this new resource at the library website (https://library.dut.ac.za) on the databases list.
